Next year sees Dallas join Plano in having a Biscuit Bar

The Biscuit Bar is coming to Dallas in 2019 to provide freshly made biscuits with a variety of toppings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as late night snacks for hungry Southern Methodist University students (SMU).

Jake and Janie Burkett opened the first Biscuit Bar in Plano, and the Dallas location at 6501 Hillcrest Avenue, next to SMU, will be the married couple’s second location. The fast-casual restaurant was unveiled in Granite Park at The Boardwalk in April this year.

The Burkett’s dining concept has been well received with The Hoss – a concoction of Southern fried chicken, Jack cheese, and bacon with the ubiquitous Southern accompaniment to biscuits – sausage gravy. Like its biscuits, the gravy is made from scratch in house.

Often, when a new eatery opens, particularly one with a unique and unfamiliar concept, the establishment will work with a flyer printing service to distribute coupons and information regarding the restaurant.

In addition to its food, the Biscuit Bar will have on-tap specialty cocktails, cold-brew coffee, and locally sourced beer. Among the cocktails available are Southern Tea containing peach liqueur and grapefruit vodka, and Blackberry Tequila Smash.

The new restaurant will be constructed on a 2,118-square-foot property, with Gilmon Fox as the builder, and design contributed by Plan B Group based in Dallas.
