Riverside gets two biking options

September 29, 2018 by

Two biking events are scheduled for the first part of October in the Riverside area.

The Annual Riverside Citrus Classic Bike Ride will take place in early October, and the Santa Ana River Trail Bike Ride and Festival will be soon after.

The Annual Riverside Citrus Classic Bike Ride has four options this year – the 100 Century, Half Century, 28 miles, and 7.4-mile family ride. All of the courses will take bikers in and around Riverside along bike trails, bike paths, and scenic highways. Proceeds will go to Riverside Independent School District programs.

The Santa Ana River Trail Bike Ride & Festival will occur a week later. This will be a free event and includes a family-friendly bike ride in Ryan Bonaminio Park, along with a health and safety fair, entertainment, food vendors, a BMX showcase, and cycling safety demonstrations.

Spectators at events such as these usually like to get their banner printing done well before the race to ensure that they will have banners ready to display along the route.

The Riverside Citrus Classic is scheduled for next Saturday, October 6 at Riverside Plaza, 3535 Riverside Plaza Drive. Pre-registered riders for the Citrus Classic may check in from 5:30 to 7:30 pm the evening before the race, and late registrants can sign up starting at 6:00 am on race day.

The Santa Ana event will be Sunday, October 14, starting at 8:00 am at Ryan Bonaminio Park, 5000 Tequesquite Avenue.
