Entertaining start to October at Plymouth venue

The Flying Monkey Movie House and Performance Center in Plymouth features some interesting fall movies and performances over the next few weeks.

The theater has 265 seats, and a dining section that has 124 seats with food and beverage service. Dining services open 6:00 pm for most shows.

On October 5 at 7:30 pm, Jimmie Vaughn – a guitarist, bandleader, and songwriter – will perform at 7:30 pm. He will be followed by Mark T. Small, a blues musician and entertainer.

The Lori McKenna Band performs country music and some of her popular songs on October 6 at 7:30 pm. Best known for the song ‘The Bird and the Rifle’, no doubt fans will be keen to see if she has any promotional products available.

The Flying Film Series will show the film ‘Blaze’ about a country blues singer with a limp working in local saloons. The movie is rated R, and will be shown October 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, and 17 at 6:30 pm.

On October 7, Southside Johnny and the Ashbury Jukes perform at 6:30 pm, serving up R&B and rock music. October 12 sees JJ Grey, a Southern rock band, perform at 7:30 pm. Capitol Troupe, a Senate comedy troupe, will take to the stage on October 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Finally, Johnny Lang, a singer and guitarist, is the headliner on October 14 at 6:30 pm. He performs blues, gospel, and rock music.

The Flying Monkey Movie House and Performance Center is located on 39 Main Street.
