Vero Beach prepares to pull together for cancer research

Residents of Vero Beach have been issued a challenge that will see teams pull together to help fund childhood cancer research, and there will be lots of other fun to be had as well.

This year will see the Walking Tree Brewery and St. Baldricks Foundation partner to host this annual fundraiser, and the whole community is invited to be a part of the day. It will be free to participate in the Family Day activities, while the cost to register for the fire truck pull has been set at $10 per person.

Local families will start gathering at Walking Tree Brewery at 12:00 noon, as this is when the festivities are scheduled to begin. Water slides and a dunk tank will provide lots of opportunities to get wet, and there will also be bounce houses and face painting. Music will provide a backdrop for the occasion, and food trucks will be parked on site so that there will be lots to choose from when the time comes for a bite to eat.

When the clock strikes four, the teams will begin lining up for the fire truck pull. Each team can have as many as 10 members, and the goal will be to pull the truck a set distance as quickly as possible. Award certificates for the winners and other items can be prepare for a fundraiser like this by area stationery printers.

The brewery, which is located at 3209 Dodger Road, will be hosting this fun-filled afternoon on October 20. Anyone who would like to register for the truck pull can find further details on the event’s online listing.
