Train ride celebrates Halloween season

The California West Railroad Museum celebrates the Halloween season with the Spookomotive Train ride on weekends. This spooky train ride has entertainment, villains, heroes, and treats for the whole family.

Taking place just two miles from West Sacramento, each weekend features a special theme. The first weekend in October, the train ride has a Superhero and Villains theme, in which the villain takes over the train and must be defeated by the superhero.

Perhaps aided by poster printing, the Spookomotive train ride will be decorated for Halloween with scarecrows, bats, cornstalks, and spiders. For the second weekend, the theme is Pirates & Princesses, where the train is captured by an evil pirate and the good pirate must defeat him.

The third weekend’s theme is Witches and Wizards. An evil witch puts a curse on the train and, using magic, the good witch must reverse the spell. West Sacramento has print shops that design holiday promotional products for events like this. The last weekend’s theme is Superheroes and Villains once again.

In addition to these themes, a first-class train ride has a Mad Scientist Laboratory with science experiments and refreshments.

The Spookomotive Train Ride will run on Saturdays and Sundays in October from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, with trains departing every hour

The California West Railroad Museum is located 1251 I Street, Sacramento.
