Run will raise funds for local schools

The Lafayette Res Run for Education is taking place next month.

A presentation of the City of Lafayette and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to local schools and to Chamber programs.

The run will consist of a 10K, a 5K, and a two-mile Fun Run/Walk and is open to all ages. Fees for the 10K and the 5K are $40 in advance and $45 on the day of the run for adults and $25 for children under the age of 12. The Fun Run/Walk costs $25 in advance or $30 on the day. Participants can also designate a specific school that will receive 10% of their fee. Dogs on leashes are welcome to accompany their owners on the runs.

After the run, there will be live musical entertainment and the Healthy Lifestyles Fair. As in past years, the fair will likely feature local health providers as well as stores that sell various health foods and supplements.

For marathon runs, Lafayette stationery printers are often asked to provide bibs and T-shirts for participants.

The Lafayette Res Run for Education will be held at Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Oak Hill Road on Sunday, October 21 beginning at 6:30 AM. For the most current information, contact the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce at 925-284-7404.
