Sacramento goes from farm to fork

September 20, 2018 by

The 6th annual Farm to Fork Festival will be held in America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital before the month comes to an end.

The two-day event will be the region’s “biggest fresh food party” with over a mile of food, beverages, family activities, cooking demonstrations, and live music.

Headlining the music stage this year will be Idea Team, Logan Brill, and the Wood Brothers on Friday, followed by Jessica Malone, Sunny War, and Magic Giant and Dawes on Saturday.

A stage just for food demonstrations will be a large part of the festivities. Top-level chefs and the best minds in the culinary scene in and around Sacramento will be giving talks and demonstrating the techniques and dishes that have made them famous.

Food and beverages with the distinctive Northern California flavors can be purchased along the streets. Over 60 vendors will be selling everything from popcorn, nuts, tacos, and milkshakes, to jerky, baked goods, BBQ, and sausage.

Other vendors will include Sacramento River Train, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, and Sacramento City Unified School District; Nutrition Services. Visit Vacaville and Visit Yolo will be passing out business cards and information about their programs and services.

The Farm-to-Fork Festival will run from 4:00 pm until 9:00 on Friday, September 28, and from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm on September 29 between Fifth and Third streets on Sacramento’s Capitol Mall.
