Classic cars roll into Encinitas

September 18, 2018 by

Continuing its summer tradition, Encinitas Classic Car Nights will rev up in the city one more time before the season ends.

The cars that will be found in the Encinitas downtown area include everything from surf wagons to hot rods, some in specific areas. Foreign automobiles, Woodies, classic cars, and hot rods will be found between D Street and K Street on South Coast Highway 101, while classic cars will be parked on side streets.

Both the cars and Highway 101 are part of Southern California’s culture. The city’s Main Street is part of Visit Encinitas101, an organization dedicated to bringing more people downtown to enjoy the restaurants and shops there. For this event, live music will be found in various places along the highway.

There is no charge for people to see or display the cars, and every car that comes downtown is eligible for awards. It is advised that people come to the event early, since there is limited parking. They could stop for a meal at one of the city’s great restaurants before going on to enjoy the cars, and organizers of events like this could work with a poster printing company to provide signs indicating the way to parking and dining options.

The final Classic Car Night is slated for this Thursday, September 20, from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. The event is free, and open to everyone. O’Reilly’s Auto Parts is sponsoring the fun.
