Middletown race to offer cops a tip of the hat

September 17, 2018 by

First responders put their lives on the line every day, and whether they are law enforcement professionals, a family member of one, or just want to show them support, residents of Middletown will soon have a chance to be a part of an event that will do just that.

This year will mark the 9th for the annual Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Run. The course is approximately 5K long, and the proceeds will be donated to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The course, which has been certified, is 3.1 miles long, and there will also be a warm up and cool down included in the day. Once the runners have completed the route, they will be welcome to stay and enjoy the refreshments and entertainment that will be on offer. A variety of awards will be up for grabs, and the race will be held rain or shine and no matter how warm or cold it may be.

The registration fee for adults for this opportunity to show support to law enforcement personnel is $30 for adults and $15 for anyone who is 14 and under. Donations will also be most appreciated. Race bibs, printed race T-shirts, start and finish line banners, and many other products that can help to make an occasion like this a success can be provides by area print shops.

October 28 has been chosen as the date for this activity. It will be held at 421 Wadsworth Street, and the check-in opens at 10:00 am.
