Veterans invited to express themselves through art

Mansfield’s female veterans will soon be offered an opportunity to be a part of a workshop that will help them explore their artistic side.

Those who attend the ‘Women Veteran & Service Member’s Art Journal Workshop’ will be invited to explore a variety of methods they can use to craft their own art journal. An art therapist will facilitate the session, and they will be using a trauma-informed approach to guide the participants through the activity. The session is open to all current serving female personnel and veterans alike.

The organizers of the event noted that, since it will focus on the creative process rather than the finished piece itself, it can be an ideal choice for those who are new to the practice. Experienced artists may also wish to take a seat in the workshop, as it will offer them an opportunity to learn new techniques and approaches of crafting their art.

The registration fee for the session is $25 each, and it will be hosted by the Mansfield Art Center. Flyer printing can be used to create marketing materials that let the public know where and when an event like this will be taking place.

October 27 has been chosen as the date for this activity. It is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm and will conclude at 5:00 pm.
