The 2nd annual South Sound Summit is taking place next month in Tacoma. The event is a presentation of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce.

The summit is set to feature “ask the expert” stations, breakout learning sessions, a keynote speaker, and a networking reception.

The keynote speaker for the afternoon will be Mitch Lowe, formerly of Netflix and now CEO of MoviePass. He will provide his hints for entrepreneurs on how to simplify their business and become successful.

Breakout sessions will TED-like talks on topics like economic opportunity, homelessness, recruiting staff, and marketing from local influencers and successful businesspersons. Speakers who will be giving these talks will include Bruce Dammeier, Tom Pierson, Sarah Champion, and Jake Nyman.

The evening will finish off with the Elevation Celebration. This will be part business expo with many local businesses showcasing their products and services, and part networking reception.

No doubt this event will attract many business leaders from the South Sound area, including those from Kent, who will want to put in a business card printing order in advance.

The South Sound Summit will be held at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center on October 30 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. Tickets are $99 for the month of September, and $149 for Chamber members or $199 for nonmembers after. To learn more, contact Jennifer Chernut at 253-683-4881.
