Sioux Falls provides artistic walk on the town

The Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls will be hosting the Sidewalk Arts Festival (SWAF) this weekend.

The event will be outdoors, and will include numerous activities for children, live entertainment, and food vendors. The event is a fundraiser for the Visual Arts Center in the Washington Pavilion.

Considering all the art that will be displayed, this is an event likely to include all kinds of printing services. The best fine art, folk art, and crafts in all of Sioux Falls will be displayed at the event. There will be over 300 vendor booths.

Exhibitions are not all that the Visual Arts Center does; it also provides art classes for both adults and children, along with a visual art and science program for homeschooled children. It also has permanent collections, such as Andy Warhol and Rodin pieces. One of the nation’s leading art centers and boasting seven galleries, it attracts artists both nationally and internationally. Rotating its displays every few months, the Center holds public lectures and artist receptions throughout the year.

The Sidewalk Arts Festival is scheduled for this Saturday, September 8, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Visual Arts Center has asked to remind the public that this is a smoke-free event. Those who will need accommodations for a disability can contact the Washington Pavilion at 605-367-6000.
