Cary theater to hold several unique filming events

September 6, 2018 by

The Cary Theatre will be showing a documentary that was made in the local area, and is holding two film festivals this month.

The local documentary, ‘Building Independence’, follows the lives of four residents of the Building Independence project, which brings together several non-project organizations to help those with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to move into their own homes and gain independence. The filmmaker, Angela Alford, who graduated from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University in 2011, will be holding a question and answer session after the film. It is free and will be shown this evening (September 6) at 7:00 p.m.

The New York Cat Festival explores the lives of some special cats who share their lives with their humans. This festival will be at 7:00 and 8:30 pm on Friday, September 14, with a portion of the proceeds going to Cat Angels Pet Adoptions.

This will be followed by The New York Dog Film Festival, which will celebrate the relationship between dogs and their humans. This will be at 11:00 am and 12:45 pm on Saturday, September 15 with a portion of the proceeds going to support the local animal welfare group. Attendees are encouraged to bring their dogs to the showings.

Various kinds of promotional products can be used to publicize such special film opportunities and their fundraising efforts.
