Sombrero Marsh to offer in-service day activities for Boulder kids

September 3, 2018 by

This fall, Boulder families with school-age children who are looking for an in-service day activity may wish to make plans to attend a day of fun in Sombrero Marsh.

The Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center will be offering Thorne Nature Experience, which will provide kids with an opportunity to interact with nature using all five senses. Sponsors of this event have made an in-kind donation of refreshments, and these will be served to the attendees.

The fun will begin at 10:00 am, and an assortment of activities will be taking place. The kids can paint a pumpkin, do some bird watching, and use a dip net to see what sorts of creatures call the marsh home. Thorne Nature Educators will be leading a guided nature exploration, and there will also be singing, dancing, and a performance by Jeff and Paige.

The organizers of the morning have asked that each boy or girl bring along a picnic lunch, and the fun will take place rain or shine. A printer that crafts promotional products can supply custom pens, pencils, fridge magnets and other small items to give to each child who takes part in an event like this.

This opportunity for young people to learn more about their nature neighbors will be held on October 12. It will take place at 1466 North 63rd Avenue in Boulder.
