Conroe kids get outdoor fall activities options

Three local outdoor facilities will offer something for little ones to do this month.

KidFish will be free and geared to children 16 years old and younger. Bait and poles will be provided for those anglers who do not bring their own gear. Fish will be weighed and measured before the trophies and prizes are awarded.

Along with the fishing event will be a ‘Kids Day at the Park’. Children can experience a petting zoo, ride the train, and bounce in bounce houses. Parents know that days like these are fleeting, so many take pictures and have local print shops and stationery printers make them into family calendars and scrapbooks.

New this year will be Gran-Day FunDay. Grandparents and their grandchildren are invited to enjoy a day in the park together. The area will have special activities including a free lunch.

Families are invited to a Family Camp-Out. Camping experiences will include canoeing, hiking, fishing, crafts, geocaching, and many other outdoor camping educational activities.

KidFish will be from 9:00 am until noon at Carl Barton Jr. Park 2500 S Loop 336 E Conroe next Saturday, September 8. The Kids Day event will be running simultaneously in the park from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Gran-Day FunDay will be at Oscar Johnson Jr. Community Center, 100 Park Place on September 15 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

The Family Camp-Out will be September 29 and 30 at Lake Livingston State Park, 300 Park Road 65, Livingston.
