Tutoring service coming to Lansdale

A new tutoring service, Top Tier Learning, plans to open a location soon in Lansdale.

Top Tier has locations throughout the nation and says it has been able to help students improve their test scores, grades, and skills wherever they are. The secret to the company’s success is that its tutors are peers of the students, which enables it to keep costs much lower than similar organizations.

When students are tutored by other students, they know their mentors understand what they’re going through, a situation that makes them more confident and comfortable discussing their learning difficulties. Tutors are non-judgmental, and able to connect with the students on the deeper level of shared experience.

Tutors can meet their students at home, in a library, or even a coffee shop; the time and place of the lessons is up to the student, which helps them become more comfortable, which in turn enhances learning. The tutoring sessions are one-on-one, and last for a full hour, during which time the students have the tutor’s undivided attention. Top Tier looks carefully at an applicant’s test scores, GPA, extracurricular activities, and professionalism before offering them a position with the company.

Companies such as this provide a needed service but also may raise many questions in potential customers, which they can address by working with a brochure printing company to create an informative pamphlet for prospective students and their families.
