The Armenian Friends of America (AFA) recently announced that Onnik Dinkjian, a world-renowned singer, will be performing in Andover at the Doubletree by Hilton this fall.

His son, Ara, will be accompanying him, and an all-star local ensemble for Hey Kef 5, a five-hour dance. Instrumentalists will be Jason Naroian, dumbeg; Ara Dinkjian, keyboard; Mal Barsamian, clarinet; and John Berberian, oud. Ara Dinkjian will also be playing the oud and is considered to be an oud player that is one of the best in the world.

Chairman of the AFA, John Azigian, commented that it is extraordinary to have Onnik performing for Hey Kef 5. He still has a tremendous amount of energy at the age of 89 and great love for his culture and its music. Azigian expects that the event will be sold out.
Born in Paris in 1929, Onnik came to America in the later 1940s and soon became a singer that was most adored and admired in the Armenian-American community. At the time, he released many recordings of popular and folk Armenian music.

The organizers of special events like these often make use poster printing to announce their concerts. Promotional materials in the locality are often a great way to make sure locals are aware.

The event will take place on Saturday October 20 from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.
