The Lakes Region Tri Festival is taking place next month in nearby Bristol for two days. This event is sanctioned by the USA Triathlon (USAT).

The events are open to people aged 15 and over. Awards will be handed out to the top three in each age group including 15-19 and 80+ as well as for relays and aquabike events.

The festival is set to feature four different races. The Sprint Distance Triathlon features a 350-yard swim, a 16-meter bicycle ride and a 5K run. The fee to enter is $105 in advance or $110 on the day of the event; relay fees are $150 or $155. The Sprint Aquabike is a 350-yard swim and a 16-meter bike ride; fees are $95 in advance or $100 on the day. The Olympic Distance Triathlon includes a 1,500-meter swim, a 31-meter bike ride then a 10K run. Fees are $155 in advance or $165 on the day; relay fees are $215 or $225. The Olympic Aquabike costs $145 or $155.

All participants who register in advance will receive a hi-tech t-shirt. There will be pre-race coffee and post-race food and drink. In addition, there will be aid stations all along the routes.

This event will likely attract people from all over including Plymouth. Local print shops are often asked to provide t-shirts for events like this.
