New murals unveiled at Tempe apartments

A mural for the residents of the Park View Apartments in Tempe has recently been created by Tato Caraveo, an artist from Phoenix known for his large murals in the area.

An owner of the apartments, Joe Blackbourn, said the idea of the murals was to make the apartments stand out amongst the many others in town and add some of the Phoenix flavor to the community. There are four murals, each of which is two to three-stories in height.

Caraveo said the design for the murals was specific for Park View. They were created free-hand and drawn with spray paint. They are whimsical in nature and are a first for Caraveo, as the characters are larger than his previous designs.

The Park View Apartments have 196 units with one, two, or three bedrooms and have been recently renovated. Each apartment has a washer and dryer, a private balcony or patio, walk-on closets, and many other amenities. Among the outdoor amenities are a state-of-the-art fitness center, a fenced-in pet park, and a bocce ball court.

The apartments are located near the US-60 and I-10 highways and are also close to several outdoor recreation facilities and Old Town Scottsdale, Mill Avenue, and Arizona State University.

Flyer printing companies could be used in such situations to inform the community of such significant artworks and encourage people to interpret them in their own way.
