Middletown to celebrate historic milestone

An extravaganza is being planned for the celebration of the 275th birthday of Middletown.

Festivities will start with the Navy band performing at the opening ceremony, the operation of the Boyd’s Grist Mill, and other special events. The public will also be able to view the town charter.

In the evening, family games, food trucks, bonfires, and other activities will take place at the Sachuest Beach parking lot. Among the vendors at the celebration are Del’s Lemonade, Brunch Belly, Pete’s Ice Cream truck, and Wally’s Dog. The Ben O’Connor Band will perform, and fireworks will end the evening.

Robert Sylvia, President of the Town Council, said that such milestones in the history of a town enable its residents to pay tribute to those who founded the town while also looking to its future. He added that attendees of the festivities will come away from the celebration with a new appreciation for the businesses, the beaches, and the quality of life in the town.

Operations and facilities director for Middletown, Will Cronin, commented that many people are volunteering their time to make this a memorable day.

The celebrations will take place on Saturday August 18.

Poster printing can be used by towns such as this one to create posters with more specific information about the many events and special activities for such celebrations.
