BrickUniverse convention to visit Dayton

Anticipation among Ohio toy lovers young and old may be building for the upcoming BrickUniverse convention scheduled for Dayton in August.

The touring show is designed to highlight the world of Lego in all of its facets. Guests will be able to look at intricately-constructed Lego masterworks, including scale models of the Gotham Theater and Manhattan Bridge, and have a chance to build their own with a near-endless supply of blocks.

Guests could include acclaimed Lego sculptors like Jonathan Lopes and Rocco Butliere, as well as educators like Greyson Beights and Marcie Colleen. Both local and national vendors will offer the latest Lego products and associated goods.

BrickUniverse is a touring show that brings its Lego attractions around the country. The inaugural event was held in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2015, and since then the tour has expanded to include over a dozen cities. Fandom-oriented events such as these, whether they have narrow or broad focus, often use flyer printing, social media, and poster printing to get the word out. After Dayton, BrickUniverse will head to Knoxville, before returning to the Buckeye State for a show in Cleveland on September 8 and 9.

The Dayton edition of BrickUniverse will take place at the Dayton Convention Center on August 18 and 19. Attendance for children two and under is free, with the event designed to be family friendly.
