Cheesesteak restaurant to open within next two months

Wiz Kidz, a new cheesesteak restaurant, plans to open in August or September this year in Bethlehem, only about six miles from Allentown.

The restaurant is being developed by owners of the Queen City Barbecue in Allentown and Bayou Grain restaurants. It will be located at 65 East Elizabeth Avenue and will have a 1980s and 1990s theme. Co-owner Mo Taylor says he is not in a rush to open, preferring to do so correctly rather than quickly.

The owners have been developing the concept for this restaurant two years. Some of the other ideas they had were burgers and gourmet hot dogs.

All the business partners grew up outside of Philadelphia and liked to eat cheesesteak sandwiches on South Street late at night. When they open Wiz Kidz, they will have their own distinctive brand.

There is brightly colored wallpaper on one side of the restaurant featuring characters like Pac-Man, Care Bears, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There will be 80s music played at the restaurant once it opens.

The quick service theme is suited to the area because the restaurant is near Moravian College and Liberty High School. The small restaurant will seat about 12 people and additional customers on the outdoor patio. There are plans to open the restaurant later at night to service the college students.

Allentown has print shops that can help design promotional products for restaurants, businesses, and various other organizations for advertising and marketing purposes.
