Henderson conference to teach electric responsibility

Ensuring the security of power systems can help to provide a constant and reliable source of electricity for communities, and this will be the focus of a conference that will be held near Henderson this fall.

The symposium will bring together a variety of industry experts and others who have a stake in the physical and cyber security of electrical systems, and both private industry and the government will be represented. The organizers noted that the GridSecCon was first held in 2011, and it has been growing ever since.

Delegates who attend the event will be able to meet with others in the field to discuss issues related to security and share best practices and lessons learned. They will also cover the importance of education when it comes to promoting the Bulk Power System’s reliability, and offer a review of the most up-to-date information about threats to the system and how to mitigate these concerns. Tickets to be a part of this learning opportunity start at $300 each.

The full agenda for the conference will be shared by the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC ) at the end of the summer. Those who attend an event like this can have business cards prepared by a printed ahead of time to share with the other delegates.

Las Vegas will be hosting GridSecCon2018 in October, starting on the 16th. It has been planned for 3555 South Las Vegas Blvd.
