Library searches for more friends in Massapequa Park

The advocate group for the local library invites all to join its free summer party on the patio.

The Friends of the Massapequa Library is an organization that supports library programs and events, encourages community participation, and promotes the services offered at the library. The party is open to anyone interested in learning more about becoming a Friend, or those that just want to meet other community members and spend a fun evening at the library. Attendees can bring business cards and introduce themselves while learning more about giving back to the community through membership to the club.

An ‘Old Fashioned Summer’ is the theme of the event, which will take place on the library patio. There will be music, snacks, and even raffle prizes during the summer event. All attendees have the chance to win a Kindle, which is the door prize for the evening. Pre-registration is not required. Contact Maria Guzzetta at (917) 403-3167 for more information about the event.

The Massapequa Public Library is located at 523 Central Avenue in Massapequa. The summer party will take place on Friday, August 17 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There is no fee to attend the event or obligation to join any organization.

The Friends of the Library membership fees are $15 a year for individuals, $25 for families, $10 for seniors and veterans, and $100 per year for businesses. Children aged 12-18 can join for $5 per year or have their fee waived by participating in five hours of community service with the Friends.
