Frederick shall go to the ball

August 7, 2018 by

The Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) in Frederick has announced its summer fundraiser: the First Annual Drag Ball.

The event will be held on the theater’s mainstage, with Roxy Scintilla acting as the hostess for the evening. Scintilla will welcome some of the area’s other favorite performers including Viruscella, and Johanna Raehnes.

The party starts in the lobby of the theater with a beer and wine bar open for attendees to enjoy, with the show starting an hour later. MET has suggested that partygoers bring dollar bills along, as tipping is encouraged.

Tickets are available now, and are $30 for a single admission when purchased online, or $35 at the door, providing there is space available. There is general seating for this event, except for patrons who would like to be close to the performers. There will be five tables set on the stage itself, each with wine for two; the price for the special seating is $70.

With the exception of any tips given directly to the performers, all proceeds from the show will go directly to the MET, which is beginning its 21st year of offering professional theater to patrons in Frederick and the surrounding area.

The ball is set to begin promptly at 8:00 pm this Saturday, August 11, with the show starting at 9:00 pm.

Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to help advertising efforts.
