Top arts festival returns for another year

August 5, 2018 by

The 22nd annual Art in the Pearl festival is taking place in Portland next month for three days.

The festival has been named one of the top 10 arts and crafts festivals in the United States according to the Art Fair Source Book. It is set to feature art, theater, music, and hands-on activities.

Artisans from all over the Pacific Northwest will be participating in this year’s festival. They will be selling handmade items such as jewelry, fine art, pottery and sculptures. The artists will also be competing for three Best of Show awards that will be voted on by the judges and the public.

Music will be provided by performers such as Beth Wood, Ex-Libris, Richey Bellinger, and Clara Baker. There will also be entertainment, such as a performance by Tribal Heart Belly Dance.

Demonstrations will be given by the Oregon Society of Artists, the Guild of Oregon Woodworks, Pacific NW Sculptors, and other individual artists. Guests can take part in art activities in the Hands on Pavilion, which will be taught by groups such as the Oregon College of Art and Craft and the Ko-Falen Cultural Center.

Portland flyer printing firms may help advertise this event by distributing flyers throughout the community.

Art in the Pearl will be held in the Pearl District from September 1 to 3. Visit the official website for the most current information.
