Annual convention brings sci-fi starts to Portland

August 4, 2018 by

The Rose City Comic Con is taking place next month in Portland for three days.

The convention is a celebration of comics, science fiction, anime, and video games.

This year’s event will feature some of the most popular actors from TV and film. Some of those who will be attending are Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn and Gates McFadden from Star Trek: The Next Generation; David Tennant and John Barrowman from Doctor Who; Michael Rooker from Guardians of the Galaxy; and Felicia Day from The Guild and Supernatural. The actors will be sitting in on panel discussions, signing autographs, and posing for photographs.

There will also be appearances from comic book artists and voice actors.

One popular part of the convention will probably be AnimeBashi, which is an area dedicated to anime, manga, cosplay, and Japanese culture. There will be information booths, special guests, panels, and film screenings.

Also taking place at the same time as the convention is Playfair PDX which will be dedicated to toys and popular culture. There will be plenty of interactive play for children of all ages.

Portland poster printing firms often provide the advertising needed for events such as this.

The Rose City Comic Con will be held at the Oregon Convention Center from September 7 to 9. Admission is $75 for three days or $30 on Friday, $45 on Saturday and $40 on Sunday. A child’s pass (ages 3 to 10) to Playfair PDX is $10 and includes admission to the convention. Visit the event website for more current information.
