Evanston event to show the Earth some love

Going “green” does not have to be a complicated process, and an Evanston event will showcase just how easy it can be to convert to an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Streets Alive and the Green Living Festival will be taking place on the mile of Main Street that runs from Crown Park to Chicago Avenue. The stretch will be closed to motor vehicle traffic, but the public is welcome to come out and walk, bike and play in this area, which will effectively be converted into a huge park for the occasion.

A variety of area businesses that wish to be included in the occasion will have displays set up where they will be showcasing their “green” products and services to the world. There will also be information provided to inspire all the attendees to make some Earth friendly changes in their daily habits. Along with all of this, there will be games and lots of other fun on offer, and the organizers expect that the occasion will draw thousands to the community.

To help ensure that the event is a huge success, the planners have created a variety of sponsorship opportunities. A local printer will be able to supply branded reusable water bottles and other environmentally friendly promotional products for this sort of festival.

This opportunity for Evanston to come together and celebrate will be held on September 9. The deadline to apply to be a sponsor has been set as August 20.
