Donut-themed race set to hit the road near Evanston

July 31, 2018 by

Evanston is just one of the Chicago area communities that have been invited to be a part of an event that will combine fitness with fun for all ages.

The occasion, which is being offered through the support of Stan’s Donuts, will include a 5k run, a 5k walk, and also a kids’ half mile dash. Those who would like to participate can choose the option that is best for them, and donuts will be served both at the finish line and along the way as well.

To thank those who come out for their assistance in making the day a success, each 5K participant will be given a package that includes a dri-fit shirt, a donut shaped finisher’s medal, and other swag. Promotional products like these can be both designed and produced by an area printer.

The kids who strut their stuff in the half mile dash will be given a T-shirt, a medal, a race bib, donut and a chance to meet the Ultimate Ninja Warriors. The monies collected during the day are slated for donation to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which will use them to help meet the expenses of its various initiatives that feed hungry people.

The Stan’s Donuts 5k will be hitting the pavement on August 11. It will be staged in Montrose Harbor in Chicago.
