Property available for purchase near North Versailles

July 28, 2018 by

North Versailles residents who are interested in purchasing property may wish to check out the parcels on offer as part of the County of Allegheny’s Vacant Property Recovery program.

The county is currently accepting applications from anyone who would like to purchase a parcel of land that is currently tax delinquent and blighted. Applicants are required to include an outline of how they plan to use the land when they make their request, and these will need to be approved by the municipality.

The Allegheny County Department of Economic Development will be administering this initiative, and as many as 60 applications will be accepted for each property. Each lot of land must have at least three years of unpaid taxes, and be of a size that has been set by the program’s administrators. A good faith deposit of at least 10 percent of the appraised value of the item will be required.

Anyone who would like to make an application to purchase one of the parcels must be current in their taxes, as well as their refuse, sewage, and water bills. In addition, to this, they are not permitted to have any code violations or municipal liens. Stationery printers will be able to provide any business forms or other materials needed for an initiative such as this.

The deadline to make an application is August 31. More information is available on the New Versailles Township website.
