Local farmers’ market runs through fall

Certain days from May through October, Ashland is hosts a farmers market. This event is entirely local, celebrating not only farmers but also artisans.

The array of goods on offer covers everything from eggs, to mea,t to flowers and plants. There is no reselling of items permitted, which means that everything is fresh and straight from the farmers. All of the goods come from within 30 miles of Ashland.

The farmer’s market itself is free, which makes it attractive even for people who just want a day out and some fresh air. The fruits and vegetables are popular, but this market goes beyond that. There are also items such as jams and jellies, baked goods, even soaps. Flowers are also for sale, and are usually popular. There are often food trucks in the area, and live music playing. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor should email the market manager.

The market is held behind Ashland Town Hall, and because everything is local, printing services are likely in high demand. Vendors at markets often have banners, business cards, and perhaps flyers or informational sheets, as the vendors are all small farms or other local small businesses.

The market runs on Saturdays, from 9:00 am to noon, starting in May and going through October. There are also special holiday markets in November and December.
