Chance to enjoy indie music in a country setting this summer

The Pickathon Indie Roots Music Festival is taking place next month for three days.

The festival is known for being green and making an effort to leave as small a carbon footprint as possible.

There will be six musical stages providing entertainment from live bands and DJs. Some of the musicians that will be performing at this year’s festival are Dopey’s Robe, Frazey Ford, Tinariwen, Wild Child, and Joshua Hedley. Featured DJs will include Greg Vandy, OCnotes and Annie O.

There will also be plenty of special activities and entertainment for the children.

Also taking place during the festival is the Pickathon Curation Series. It consists of four dinners and two brunches. There will be a dinner the day before the festival begins, August 2, and one on the Friday night. There will be brunches and dinners both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for each meal is $80 per person and is restricted to 75 diners.

It is likely that music fans from Portland will take the short trip to attend this original festival. Organizers may have worked with a local flyer printing company to help advertise.

The Pickathon Indie Roots Music Festival will be held at Pendarvis Farm from August 3 to 5. Fees for the weekend are $160 for youth and $320 for adults, while children aged 12 and under are admitted for free. Visit the website to learn more.
