McHenry welcomes county fair

July 24, 2018 by

The McHenry County Fair will take place at the end of this month, at the fairgrounds located at 11900 Country Club Rd in nearby Woodstock. The fair is a tradition in the region with a 70-year history.

Exhibits and vendors will be part of the event displaying products, goods and services along with culinary favorites. Vendors typically utilize printing services to handle banner printing for use in their booths.

A carnival provides family entertainment and will be included in the full schedule of activities at the fair. Musical performances will also be part of the fun throughout the event.

4-H and other livestock shows allow visitors to get a close-up look at the animals and educational opportunities to learn about ranching. Displays depicting agriculture and conservation can provide interesting information to young attendees.

The long-running Miss McHenry Pageant will take place on the Tuesday, providing a scholarship to the winner. Girls between the ages of 5-9 may participate in the McHenry County Fair Princess Mentoring Program, which helps girls develop confidence while having a fun time. Princesses are crowned on stage.

Event programs are customary at fairs and festivals with graphic design created by print shops. Programs list the full agenda, advertising and related information and are designed to be a keepsake.

With the event running July 31 to August 5, ticket prices start at $2 with children age five and younger free. Visit the event website for complete information.
