George stays with OK City

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a major change to their roster for the upcoming season.

Sam Presti, the General Manager and Executive Vice President of the team, disclosed that Paul George has joined the Oklahoma City Thunder in a contract that will last several years. Presti elaborated that George is a great example on and off the court, so he is happy the forward will continue to play with the team, and he believes a sturdy relationship has blossomed with George, the team, and the community.

David Holt, Oklahoma City mayor, is also excited for George to continue with the team, with city dedicating July 7 in his honor. George has been an All-Star for the NBA five times.

Last season, he had an average of 2.04 steals, 3.3 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 21.9 points. The terms of the contract were not given as it is against policy.

According to Clayton I. Bennett, the chairperson of the team, George will demonstrate commitment to the city in a way that fans will recognize now and in the future. Bennett expressed appreciation in George’s honesty, dedication, and motivation to make the Thunder a better team and the community a better place. He also expressed excitement for the franchise’s future that includes George and his family.
