Studio City goes for ice cream and a movie

July 17, 2018 by

Summer is always the time for ice cream and a movie. Sweet Rose Creamery will be having both.

Classic movies (mostly family-oriented) will be shown on the back patio next week, and on the five Wednesdays in August. The movie in July will be ‘The Lion King’. The ones in August will be ‘Back to the Future’, ‘The Goonies’, ‘Dirty Dancing’, ‘Stand by Me’, and ‘Up’.

Everyone is invited to play games, eat ice cream treats, and enjoy the films.

Ice cream workshops will also be available on designated Sundays. Everyone five years old and older can learn to make their own ice cream. Tickets are $35 apiece, and August’s flavor will be mango.

Guests will want to get business cards from the creamery for information on catering, ice cream flavors, and upcoming events. There are 15 flavors still available in July. The classic flavors will include strawberry, salted caramel, fresh mint, cookies and cream, coffee, and of course chocolate and vanilla. Chef’s picks this month includes peaches and cream, summer corn, blueberry muffin, and rocky road.

Movie nights will be July 25 and August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at the Studio City location, 4377 Tujunga Ave. from 8:30 until 10:30 pm.

The Ice Cream workshop will be August 19 from 11:00 am until noon.
