Tustin seafood lovers invited to local festival

The 10th annual Lobsterfest at Newport Beach is a summer tradition that helps to raise funds for local charities.

Fresh Maine lobsters paired with traditional side dishes and steak make up a part of the hearty feast. The beachside festival includes kayak and bicycle rentals, as well as live entertainment.

A percentage of all proceeds go to several charitable organizations. Beneficiaries for this year include Leadership Tomorrow, a Seattle-based organization that promotes better leadership skills in community members. Also included are Make-A-Wish of Orange County and the Inland Empire, an Orange County group that picks up unwanted clothing and household items and distributes them to people in need.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person in advance and $100 on the day of the event. This includes one lobster, a steak, side dishes, and dessert. The VIP tickets are great for corporate gifts and are $150 each and include the same extras as the general admission ticket, as well as all-you-can-eat Maine lobster, two complimentary glasses of wine or beer, and a reserved table at the stage-front. Guests can also reserve a VIP table that includes seating for 10 people and dinner for $1,500. Advance purchase lobster-free meals for kids are $25 each.

Lobsterfest is on August 5 from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort at 1131 Back Bay Drive in Newport Beach.
