Greensburg company to give away backpacks

Since 2013, The Cellular Connection (TCC) has been giving backpacks filled with supplies to school children before the start of school, and this year is no exception.

The company will soon be giving away about 187,000 backpacks across the country, and TCC’s Greensburg location will once more take part in the effort. Since it began this campaign, TCC has donated a total of 752,000 backpacks, and the Greensburg store will give away 220 of them.

The TCC location in Greensburg is one of over 1,200 Wireless Zone and TCC stores throughout the country taking part in the giveaway. The backpacks are filled with folders, a pencil box, glue, paper, pencils, and more.

Round Room is TCC’s parent company, and its CEO, Scott Moorehead, said his company was delighted to help support children’s education by providing school supplies. This takes the burden of back-to-school preparation off both parents and their children, so the families can focus on the upcoming school year. Since each TCC or Wireless Zone distributes the backpacks locally, it truly is a community effort.

In Greensburg, families can pick up their free backpacks at the TCC store on East Freeland Road, on Sunday, July 22, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The backpacks are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organizers of this type of event might like to work with a flyer printing company to create a mailer for locals, announcing the occasion.
