The Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival is returning to Lancaster for 10 days next month.

This is a fair that will feature a midway with carnival rides and games designed to appeal to all members of the family. There will also be livestock events, a food competition, and vendors selling all sorts of items, including arts and crafts and general merchandise.

There will also be a concert series with tickets ranging in price from $20 up to $80. Some of this year’s performers are Chaka Khan and Sheila E., The Fray, Styx, and Justin Moore. There will also be free performances on the community stage from groups such as the Agape Community Church Choir and Praise Dancers, a hypnotist, and the GLC Singer Showcase.

Other events are set to include a monster truck show and a demolition derby.

To advertise this and other fairs, organizers will often contact Lancaster print shops to provide them with items such as flyers and brochures.

The Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival will be held at the A.V. Fair and Event Center from August 17 to 26. Admission is $7 in advance or $11 after August 16 for adults, and $7 or $8 for seniors and children between the ages of 6 and 11. A season’s pass is $15 or $18. Call 661-948-6060 to learn more.
