Bellerose celebrates midsummer with feasting and screenings

July 7, 2018 by

Toward the end of July and on into August, Kew Gardens Festival of Cinema will celebrate cinema, art, and food with A Midsummer Night’s Feast and Festival of Cinema.

Over 30 New York diverse food vendors and restaurants will cater to guests’ food cravings. Tickets costing $15 will get attendees through the door and small samples of food and special beverages will be available from $5 to $10.

Bellerose guests are invited to check out the museum’s artwork and view cinema trailers of the upcoming Kew Gardens Festival of Cinema’s films. Filmmakers will be networking with guests so everyone will want to remember to bring business cards.

A couple of days later will be the opening day for the 2nd Annual Kew Gardens Festival of Cinema. Along with the 40+ independent film screenings, the event will feature podcasts, panels and parties. An opening night red carpet party will start the festival and that will be followed by an after party. Eight evenings of films will conclude with an awards dinner gala.

The feast is scheduled for July 31 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Queens Museum at the New York City Building in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens.

The festival will run from August 3 to 12 at the Midway Theater and the Queens Museum. The red carpet gala will be at the UA Midway Theater 9, 108-22 Queens Boulevard, Queens on the evening of Friday, August 3.
