Car show coming to Newark

July 6, 2018 by

For the fourth year, the Licking County Aging Program (LCAP) is holding its annual car show.

The show features a variety of motorcycles, trucks, and cars, and the proceeds go to benefit the LCAP and the programs it provides to seniors. This event is suitable for people of all ages, and is fun for the whole community. Not only will there be vehicles on display, there will also be food trucks from Poppys Roadside Diner, and Moe’s BBQ, and tunes courtesy of DJ Jim Matheney.

The Licking County Aging Program is the county’s biggest senior center, and is located in Newark’s east end. The agency helps seniors meet their basic needs including homecare, health, and food, as well as connecting with others in the neighborhood.

LCAP prepares and delivers nearly 1,000 meals, five days a week, via the Meals on Wheels Program, which serves all of Licking County.

People who want to attend the car show and enter their vehicles are welcome to do, beginning at 4:00 pm on the day of the show. The first 100 vehicles to register will receive dash plaques, and prizes and organizers will start handing out prizes and awards at approximately 7:45 pm.

The LCAP Car Show is set for July 13, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the Heritage Hall Senior Center.

Organizers of this type of event might work with a banner printing company to create fun banners to decorate the venue.
