‘Here we go again’ as ABBA show comes to St. Louis

July 6, 2018 by

St. Louis audiences can find their inner ‘Dancing Queen’ when the ‘Mamma Mia!’ show comes to the city for a limited run.

ABBA is one of the most popular and successful groups in the history of popular music, selling as many as an estimated 500 million albums during the height of their career, from 1974-1982. Songs like ‘Waterloo’ and ‘Money Money Money’ are familiar to people all over the world, and the stage show Mamma Mia!, is one of the most successful musicals of all time, being the ninth-longest running show in Broadway history.

Set on a fictional Greek island, the show uses ABBA’s music to help tell the story of a girl’s attempt to find her birth father. All three cast members are Broadway veterans, with Corinne Melançon appearing in ‘Mamma Mia!’ for 11 years, Dana Winkle has appeared in ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’ in St. Louis, and Dan’yelle Williamson’s Broadway credits include ‘Memphis’ and ‘Rocky’.

Mamma Mia! will play Stages St. Louis on South Geyer Road from July 20 through August 19. Tickets are on sale now.

Events like this are always fun, but can be even more enjoyable if the theater works with a poster printing company to create advertising for the show. They might consider selling them as well, since many fans collect them.
