Popular art festival returns to Lexington this summer

July 4, 2018 by

The Woodland Art Fair is taking place next month in Lexington for two days. It is presented by the Lexington Art League and Lexington Parks and Recreation.

The fair has received several accolades over the years, including being chosen as one of the ‘Top 200 Fine Arts and Design Shows’ by Sunshine Artist Magazine.

There will be over 200 artisans from all over the city and the state who will be selling a variety of items such as handmade jewelry, ceramics, pottery, and paintings. The artist will be competing for several awards. The awards to be handed out are the Best of Kentucky Recognition Award, the Cutting Edge Recognition Award, and the Award of Excellence; there will also be a number of merit awards presented, along with honorable mentions.

The fair is also set to feature musical entertainment, food concessions, and beer gardens. In addition, there will be plenty of family art activities.

This event is a way for local artists to receive the recognition of both their peers and the public. Many may decide to invest in business cards to be handed out to Lexington residents who stop by their booth.

The Woodland Art Fair will be held at Woodland Park from August 18 to 19 beginning at 10:00 AM each day. Admission is free of charge. To learn more about this event, call 859-254-7024.
