Animals as Natural Therapy will be hosting its 13th Annual Bluegrass Bash in a couple of weeks. The event will be free.

Guests will feast on Hempler’s franks and enjoy ice cream donated by Mallard Ice Cream. All ages can join in the activities and games. There will be bingo, sack races, a tug-o-war and a duck pond along with water balloons and animal art. Also on the agenda will be dancing, a raffle, horse demos, and a petting zoo.

Stremler Gravel will sponsor the live music, which will be provided by Queens Bluegrass. Fans of the group may wish to ask the members if they have any promotional products with them for sale.

Visitors can walk around the barnyard and meet the goats, horses, chickens, rabbits, and the llamas that the organization uses in its therapy when working with local at-risk children and veterans.

A silent auction and raffle will include items such as The Mile Pie Club’s homemade pies, a birthday party at the farm, seven days at the ANT Summer Day Camp for kids from the ages of 6 to 18, and tickets to the ANT Board member Wine and Cheese Tasting. Other items include Northwest Washington Fair passes, a tour and taste for eight people through the Asian Brewing Company, and tickets to next year’s ANT Gala and Auction.

The Bash will be at Windy Acres Farm, 721 Van Wyck Rd, on July 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
