Mt. Pleasant celebrates July 4 in style

July 1, 2018 by

Two events are planned in the Mt. Pleasant area to celebrate Independence Day.

The Uncle Sam Jam will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Pier, where there will be dancing, music, and a fireworks show. With its location at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge, the pier enables views of many other fireworks displays in Charleston Harbor. The Riverwatch Café at the pier will be offering food and drink for purchase.

It is recommended that attendees bring beach chairs. Gates open at 7:00 pm, and Ellen Drive, a local band, starts its performance at 8:00 pm.

Nearby at the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Mt. Pleasant, people can board the USS Yorktown and enjoy an evening of food and music and views of the fireworks. To get access to a special viewing area, barbecue from Top Shelf Catering, and complimentary cocktails, people can purchase a VIP ticket. Those who want to get on the flight deck and purchase food and drink can purchase a regular admission ticket. There is no charge for those who want to sit on the grassy area next to the marsh onshore. Food and drink will be available for purchase and there will be entertainment for children and live music.

Banner printing can be used to create banners to inform the community of such events, prices, and the several options available at each price level.
