Torrington ready to turn out for July 4

June 30, 2018 by

Torrington Parks and Recreation will be hosting this year’s 4th of July 2018 Summer Carnival & Fireworks Display, although it will be a few days later than one might expect.

R.W. Commerford’s & Sons will provide carnival rides, a super slide, a magic circus, fire truck, a pony cart and a carousel, and games for the little ones such as balloon bursting and water games. Adults can join their little ones on the Fun Slide, Scrambler, Swinger, Ferris Wheel, Tip Top and Gravitron.

Guests will want to bring money to enjoy all the summer treats that will be offered by local food vendors. The carnival will also have food for sale. Torrington-based Vin Avallone Productions will do the honors for the music.

The Zambelli family will provide fireworks starting at dusk. An industrious photographer may certainly consider taking pictures of these displays for future poster printing.

For those arriving by car, there will be parking fees. Those vehicles opting to park at the Middle School will be charged $10 while those going to Bishop Donnelly and its adjacent field will pay $5. Walk-ins will pay $2.

The carnival and fireworks here in town will be next Saturday, July 7 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Torrington Middle School 200 Middle School Dr. A rain date has been set for the following day.
