McHenry beer lovers invited to hit the trail

Regional craft beer will be the order of the day during a McHenry area event that will combine brews with a leisurely stroll in the afternoon sun.

Those who stop by Fel-Pro RRR in Cary for The Great Outdoor Beer Trail will be treated to a mile-long showcase of locally brewed beers, ales, and other refreshments. As the route winds through the trees, there will be lots of shade, and breweries will have displays set up where guests can stop, enjoy a sample and learn more about what these local brewers have to offer.

As they sip their samples, the crowd will be invited to head to one of the food trucks that will be on site for a bite to eat, and a program of live music will keep the crowd entertained. A variety of outdoor summer games will be on offer, and several vendors in the outdoor recreation sector will be participating as well. The whole occasion is open to anyone who purchases a ticket and is age 21 and over.

Tickets for the occasion are being sold to the public for $45 each, and this includes beer samples and a specially designed tasting glass. A local crafter of promotional products will be able to supply custom glassware such as this. Designated driver passes are also available.

This opportunity to enjoy a leisurely browse through everything the area’s craft brewing community has to offer will be held on August 18 at 1520 Crystal Lake Road in Cary. More details can be found on the visit McHenry County website.
