Middletown company assists naval industry with new products

KVH Industries, Inc., headquartered in Middletown, recently announced it has developed new cybersecurity initiatives for its satellite network and hardware that are used by its maritime customers around the world.

The chief executive officer at KVH, Martin Kits van Heyningen, said that the company has many ways to approach the complexities of cybersecurity. The company offers training on maritime cybersecurity as well as many different types of network safeguards.

Kits van Heyningen considers training to be of the utmost importance as many incidents occur due to lack of knowledge on the part of the crew. Consequently, the company will be offering to its customers the training program on “Cybersecurity at Sea” free of charge. Topics covered in the training programs include how to assess and reduce the risks of a cybersecurity attack and how to respond to an incident, should one occur.

Terrestrial and satellite network security, network and hardware configuration, and assistance with responding to incidents and threats are among the other offerings from the company.

Kits van Heyningen added that as the maritime industry moves forward in its efforts towards digitalization, KVH is continually working to upgrade network security, reduce cybersecurity attacks for vessels, and be proactive in its training and services.

Brochure printing can be used by such companies to create brochures with more specific information about its training, products, and other offerings.
