Plymouth area plans action-packed July event

The Old Home Day festival is taking place next month in nearby Franconia. It is a presentation of the Franconia Notch Regional Chamber of Commerce.

There are planned to be a wide variety of activities during the day, many of which will raise funds for various local charities and organizations.

The day will start off with a pancake breakfast and the “Who’s Your Hero” 5K Fun Run Race at 8:30 AM. There will be a summer artisan’s show, a book sale, and plenty of barbecue food to enjoy. There will also be a duck race on Gale River hosted by the Lafayette Lions, a concert tribute to the Beatles, and a fireworks display at Dow Park beginning at dusk.

The most anticipated event of the day will be the grand parade, which will kick off at 2:30 pm. The theme for this year’s parade is ‘Summertime Fun in the White Mountains’. The parade will feature floats designed and ridden by local businesses and community organizations, children on bicycles, marching bands, and local dignitaries. Trophies will be awarded for the best participants.

No doubt people from all over, including Plymouth will be interested in attending the celebration. A local brochure printing firm may provide marketing material to help spread the word.

Old Home Day will be held on Main Street in Franconia on July 7. Contact Bill Mellekas at 603-823-5661 for more information.
