July 4th celebration will have something for everyone

June 17, 2018 by

The Town of Moraga Fourth of July Celebration is taking place next month and will be filled with a day of fun activities.

The day will start off with a pancake breakfast and will be followed by three fun runs. The runs are a kiddie one, two miles, and five miles. Registration fees are $10 for the Kiddie Run and $25 for each of the other two, although the price will go up after tomorrow, June 18.

These two events will be followed by a dog parade and then a children’s bike parade. There will also be a magic show and a concert by David Martin’s House Party. Food, wine, and beer will be available for purchase during the day.

Several organizations will be setting up community booths that will provide information about their services and programs; many may also be handing out freebies such as pens and fridge magnets.

The official ceremony will start at 6:45 pm and will feature the singing of the national anthem and the mayor. The evening will finish off with a fireworks demonstration.

It is likely that many people from nearby Lafayette will make the short trip to attend the celebration. Local print shops may have been asked to provide advertising materials to help spread the word.

The Fourth of July Celebration will be held at Moraga Commons Park on July 4 from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm. Admission is free. Call 925-888-7050 for more information.
