Mansfield workshops will see families get creative with clay

The Mansfield Arts Center has organized a series of monthly Art Nights that will see families come together to enjoy an evening of fun and creativity in a relaxed atmosphere.

The classes, which are open to those who are age six and up, will each have a different theme. At the end of the event, the attendees will be able to leave the piece they have crafted onsite to be fired in the kiln and made ready for them to pick up and take home with them.

During the workshop, the facilitator will guide the families through all the steps needed to complete the project. They have been designed so that they can accommodate people of all skill levels, and the items that will be crafted include flower bowls, a toad house, a lighted pumpkin and a birdy bowl. They will all be made from clay, and after they have been glazed, they will be ready to be picked up in about two or three weeks.

The Mansfield Art Center is located at 700 Marion Avenue, and the workshops will begin at 5:30 pm. Flyer printing can be used to produce directed mail marketing materials that let local households know when and where an activity like this will be held in their area.

The first Family Art Night has been scheduled for July 13. The registration fee for each of the classes will be $15 each.
